Over the weekend I had the chance to spend time speaking with someone who was not only a lifelong Democrat but an active officer within the DNC for decades. We discussed the "glory days" of the modern Democrat Party, her time spent working for the Bill Clinton Campaigns and visits to DC. She has a wonderful picture of herself with Bill in 1988 when he was drumming up support for his Presidential Campaign. The stories about the inaugurations are well worth hearing. While being quite open, she even told me of people within her own party who urged her to "come out" about having an affair with Clinton. The affair never happened but apparently some people within the party wanted her to come forward in response to Juanita Broaddrick. We could only speculate that they wanted her to make the claim so she could be shot down, thus providing cover against the women who he had assaulted.
We both also discussed the fact that Bill Clinton was the most charismatic President in modern history. A fact that one must realize as shocking when you consider his wife never learned any of his tactics. This 30+ year veteran of the DNC (she still is a member but stepped down as an officer) lowered her voice and confessed to me that 2016 was the first time in her life she voted for a Republican. The act of turning away from the Democrat Party seemed both shocking and liberating to her.
She discussed what the Democrat Party stood for and tried to accomplish during her time. Her dissatisfaction with the DNC and the Party as a whole began with a new generation of members and officers calling themselves "progressive". These people were no longer content with being Liberal, they wanted to change the very definition of what it was to be a liberal and move the party further towards their specific, progressive goals. It seems to me what she was describing was a war within the DNC for control of the party between Liberals and Progressives. According to her, the Progressives won the battle have been systematically purging liberals from the party.
Like me, she confessed that her political views haven't changed much over the years. The problem is that the Democrat Party has surged so far to the left that it is leaving the majority of it's members (as well as the majority of Americans) turned out into the cold. These Progressives, now calling themselves Liberals, are intent on bending the nation to their will. They punish those within the party who try to retain the old ideals of Liberalism and cast out anyone who doesn't fit their Machiavellian attempts to reshape the party. In practice, this means calling those who hold to true Liberal ideas Fascists and Nazis in order to brainwash the masses into rethinking the very meaning of the word Liberal.
As an example, she pointed out her first contact with Terry Mcauliffe, former Virginia Governor. She confided to me that she had recently received a 2020 DNC presidential "survey" which suggested Mcauliffe would be the best choice to win the White House. When she first met him, he was working on organizing the first presidential campaign for Bill Clinton. Apparently, he was a good friend of the Clintons and even was later a campaign chair for Bill's re-election. In her first meeting though she revealed his desire to leverage Bill Clinton into the presidency and then bring sweeping changes to both the DNC and the country as a whole. She hinted that she thought he was an unethical man who felt politicians should be given the treatment and deference of royalty with himself as a kingmaker. According to her, in 1996 he boasted that Bill was going to make sure he (Mcauliffe) was rewarded by making him the next leader of the DNC. Turns out he wasn't the next but he did become DNC chair after some questionable financial deals with the Clintons.
These are the types of people now in charge of the DNC. People who feel money can solve any problem and politicians can't be held to the same laws as the rest of America. What is worse, these "new liberals" are adept at convincing the masses that definitions to words are fluid. They use Psychopolitics (brainwashing techniques) and the writings of former despots such as Hitler, Stalin, and Machiavelli for ways to control the population. According to this previous officer in the DNC, the new leadership openly embraces the old policies of supremacy and control that drove the DNC in the 1800s. Hiding behind the Liberal brand, these "Progressives" are in fact regressing the party to an earlier time in order to drive a caste system in our country.
After three hours of discussing this phenomenon with a lifetime Democrat. I understand why she felt she had to vote against the Democrat candidate in 2016. Between 1998 and 2006 the Democratic leadership underwent a shift resulting in a purge of the ideology of the membership. What replaced the direction of the party was a shift based on Psychopolitics that relies on shaping the perceptions of minorities and the youth to become blindly loyal party sycophants. This made me think of Barbara Walters quote about Barak Obama: "We felt he was our messiah". It also reminded me of a man I knew on Facebook (First name Richard) who said: "Hillary Clinton can't be held to the same laws as other Americans. She's different, politicians aren't like us normal people."
When seen from these viewpoints, the 2016 election was a choice between the caste system promoted by the DNC (with many Republicans) and the rule of law, meaning one law for all. As time goes by we see the corruption in DC revealed as frighteningly deep within the very organizations which were supposed to protect Americans against a betrayal of the Constitutional principal of law. Nearly each week we hear new stories about another level of depth in the dysfunction and corruption that has gripped our country. We are in need of a savior. Someone who will purge the corruption in the bureaucracy so that our institutions can punish those who violate the laws of the nation in a uniform manner. If this means Congressmen, Senators, and even Presidents (or ex) must face prison time then that is what we need to return this country to the people.
